You Didn’t Give Up On Me

Thank you for taking this poor, lost, hopeless sinner and giving her life. Thank you that you didn’t give up on me when I rejected you and walked in unhealthy, destructive ways, Thank you for watching over me even when I mocked the idea of who you are.

Lord, I acknowledge that without you I am nothing. You gave me life and you are the one who sustains it. You designed my body in a marvelous way and are the one who strengthens it. You gave me my mind and are the one who enlightens it. You gave me a heart to love others, but it is only through abiding in your love that I can love them as I should.

Lord, thank you for taking this person who is nothing apart from you and giving her value, meaning and purpose. Thank you for exchanging my depressed, meaningless life for one filled with joy and satisfaction. Thank you for lifting my head so I can see you and how much I need you.

Lord, I was blind and lost and you opened my eyes so I can see. I was self-centered and self-indulgent and you called me to a blessed life of self-sacrifice, which I can only live because of your life given in loving sacrifice for mine. Thank you Jesus that you gave up your rightful place with the Father to come as a man and love and serve me.

Thank you Lord that though I was once lost I am now found. Thank you for rescuing me from a life of sin and death and pouring yourself into me. Thank you that in you I have everything I need for both physical and spiritual life. Lord, by the power of your Holy Spirit in me may I pour into others as you have poured into me. May the eyes of the blind be opened to see you as you work in me.

Amen
