Turn For Good

Lord, we thank you that what people mean for evil you take and turn for good. We don’t understand your workings but we know you are good and want what is best for us. We know that you hold the future in your hands and whatever you desire will come to pass in the end.

Lord, we are reminded of Joseph whose brothers hated him and sold him into slavery. In the midst of his dire circumstances, you were with him and lifted him up. You raised him up out of prison and put him in a place where he would be able to rescue his family in their time of need. His brothers acted out of animosity and evil motives but Joseph remained steadfast to you and in the end, you put him in a good place.

Lord, when everything around us is in turmoil, may our faith continue to be in you and your goodness. May we not look on our circumstances but instead focus on you and keep an eternal perspective. May we not allow the evil of people to consume us but rather abide with you and be filled with your Spirit.

Lord, you take the bad and use it for our good if we love you and are called according to your purpose. That is a promise that we can cling to when life isn’t as we think it ought to be. May we be patient in the trials and suffering and allow you to do your work. May we be steadfast in our faith in you and not bow our knee to anything other than you.

Lord, you are the lifter of our head. You are the eternal God and King. You are the one who made all things good and exists beyond this fallen and unraveling world. May we not expect things to be right in the here and now but keep our focus on the end result. Thank you that in the end you will bring about the good that you desire.

Amen
