Lord, you are the Rock, the cornerstone (Matthew 21:42) we build upon; a firm foundation. We are created (Genesis 1:27) in the fullness of your glory. Others may reject you, but when they do they settle like sand castles in the waves. (Matthew 7:24-27) We are victorious; we have already won. Nothing will prosper against you.
You are the rock that flows living water. (Isaiah 48:21) Out of you, life is given to the fullest measure. You sustain us. All who thirst may drink; you are never ending. In all things, you know no bounds. You are a flood of grace and mercy. We are like a grain of sand and you are like the highest mountain. Is there any other Rock? (1Samuel 2:2)
You defy all situations. A stone wall, like a fortress, you stand guard. (Psalm 71:3) We take refuge in your shadows and we feel safe in your care. The stone of death’s tomb could not hold you. Death itself is defeated for all who seek your safety. We are fearless in you. Your covering knows no end. Our Rock, our fortress, and defense.
