Reconciled

The Need for a Savior

Bible Reading: Colossians 1:21-23

21 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, 23 if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Reflection: Reflect on what it means to be born with a sin nature and why you need a savior.  Pray for people who don’t have a relationship with Jesus that they would recognize their need for Christ and desire to be reconciled with him.

Journal Writing: What is an important truth from the reflection? Why do you need to know that truth?

Application Prayer: Write out a prayer for God’s insight and help into how you can apply the truth from the reflection.

Week’s Memory Verse: Romans 5:18-19

18Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. 19For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
