Lord, thank you that in you alone do we find peace for our souls. Thank you that in your grace and mercy you desire to grant us peace. Thank you that the turmoil inside and outside us causes us to seek you.
Lord, we pray for those who don’t know you and are striving to be right on their own apart from you that they would recognize it is an empty and fruitless pursuit. We can’t work our way into your good graces, but we can humble ourselves before you and receive from you your gracious gift of abundant and eternal life.
Thank you that you sent your Son to make a way for us to come to you. Thank you that in our rebellious, unholy state you loved us enough to redeem us. Lord, may we see ourselves for who we are apart from you. May your Holy Spirit work in us, convict us of our sin, and show us our need for you.
Thank you that you desire to forgive and cleanse us. Thank you that you want to make us right and restore us to spiritual health. Thank you that spiritual health also improves our physical health.
Lord, we recognize that you created all things good. Adam and Eve, by choosing to rebel against you and your authority, brought sin into the world. Since then all things have been unraveling and will continue to do so until you completely restore your creation to yourself.
Thank you that even though others may choose to rebel against you and follow evil, we can choose to abide with you and do what is right. Thank you for the free will that you give us to choose you freely. May our hearts truly desire to love and serve you. May we hold steadfastly to you and your way, no matter what others choose.
