Lord, my salvation is in you and none other. My hope is in you and none other. My life is in you and none other. Thank you that you are God. From everlasting to everlasting, you alone are God. There is no other.
Lord God, you alone are worthy of worship. Thank you that you are sovereign and steadfast. Thank you that you remain God, no matter what are the changing ideas of men. Thank you that we can rely on you even when all seems against us.
Thank you that as a loving Father you are watching over us and directing our steps. Thank you, too, that as a loving Father you also discipline us to bring us back into right order with you. May we always remember that it is your deep and abiding love for us that determine your actions toward us. You by being God are the very essence of love. May we always remember that.
Lord, if in this world our actions came out of your love, it would be a better place. If we loved you with the whole of our being and our neighbor as ourselves, this world would be a good place and reflect your goodness. Lord, our problem isn’t that we don’t love ourselves. Our problem is we love ourselves too much and put our desires above yours and our interests above the interests of others. Lord, may we recognize that no good thing comes from elevating ourselves above you and our fellow human beings.
Lord, humble us and cause us to recognize our utter and complete dependence upon you. Cause us to see you for who you are and ourselves for who we are in comparison. Please do a work in us individually and as a nation so that we see and elevate you. May we proclaim your praise and glorify you.
