Lord, you say that greater love has no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends. On this Veterans’ Day, we thank you for those who have served this country and for their willingness to lay down their lives to protect us and our freedom. We pray your blessings upon those who have and are currently serving our country in the military.
Lord, we recognize that service to our country has come at great cost to many. We pray for the healing of broken bodies and minds that have seen the devastation of combat. Lord, you are the healer and we lift them up that your great healing hand be upon them.
We pray your blessings on them and their families that they would abide in your presence and experience your nearness. Thank you Lord that you are with them in the ups and downs of life and that you will carry them through whatever difficulties they encounter. Thank you Lord that you are the one who brings rest to their soul as they abide in you and your love.
Lord, we pray that each and every veteran would see that you alone are the author and sustainer of life. May they experience the fullness of life that you have for them as they put their trust in you. May they find rest and peace in you.
Lord, we thank you for the brave men and women who have been willing to serve this country. May the rest of us be aware of their sacrifice and know how we can be a blessing and support to them. May we as a people be of greater encouragement to one another and lift one another up before your throne. Thank you Lord for making us a nation. May we see ourselves as one people under you and serve one another in love.
