He Does Not Answer

God doesn’t respond to wicked people.

Bible Reading: Job 35: 9-13

“Because of the multitude of oppressions people cry out;
    they call for help because of the arm of the mighty.
10 But none says, ‘Where is God my Maker,
    who gives songs in the night,
11 who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth
    and makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?’
12 There they cry out, but he does not answer,
    because of the pride of evil men.
13 Surely God does not hear an empty cry,
    nor does the Almighty regard it.

Reading Questions: Why doesn’t God listen to the cries of wicked men? What does it take to have a relationship with God? What is the result of having a relationship with God?

Journal Writing: What is an important truth from the Bible reading? Why do you need to know that truth?

Application Prayer: Write out a prayer for God’s insight and help into how you can apply the truth from the reading.

Week’s Memory Verse:  Romans 1:20

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

  1. What does it take to have a relationship with God? Like any relationship you have to have trust.We must trust in God and his word.The result is knowing you are never alone.
